What is International Peace Day? International Peace Day commemorates the day Hiroshima was destroyed by an atomic bomb. That day was August 6, 1945. Even though we are celebrating on August 5, it will coincide with celebrations in Europe and Japan, where it will already be August 6. Our prayer, which is expressed through music and the space we create, is that universal peace and brotherhood will manifest from this day forward, and that such atrocities as have happened in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam, Kosovo, Germany and Iraq will never happen again.

What is the Peace Tribe Orchestra? The Peace Tribe Orchestra is a collective of musicians and songwriters from the Santa Cruz area. We currently have 13 members. We have concerts on a regular basis in Santa Cruz and recently appeared at the Harmony festival in Santa Rosa, CA. We will appear at Earthdance in Sonoma County in early September.
